Blue Jay

Blue Jay

Intelligent and related to Crows and Ravens, Blue Jay (Cyanocitta cristata) is a fearless nest raiders as depicted in this print. Stealing eggs from any unsuspecting species (in this case Barn Swallow eggs) they are bold in color and known for their noisy chatter.

Accurate representation inspired by Audubon’s print layout. Sized to match Harvell edition prints from the double elephant folio edition. Read Audubon’s journal about his encounters.
