Albatross Bird Sculpture

Albatross Bird Sculpture

Albatross species spend nearly their entire life in the air. The only time they land is to breed and raise their babies. Even when they land, they are isolated on remote islands in the Pacific ocean. They take over the entire island with huge nest sites called rookeries.

Despite being incredibly clumsy on the ground, Albatrosses are incredibly graceful when flying. They have evolved solely to fly and I captured the ease with which the glide and bank in the ocean winds. A small wave catches the lower wing as the bird gracefully hunts and scans the seas.
