Common Nighthawk
Common Nighthawk
Print #14 Common Nighthawk features a common species to US night skies. Common Nighthawks (Chordeiles minor) are primarily nocturnal insect feeders who come out during sunset. Their large mouths and froggy calls and white wing bands are giveaways to the species.
Accurate representation inspired by Audubon’s print layout. Sized to match Harvell edition prints from the double elephant folio edition. Read Audubon’s journal about his encounters.
