Merlin

Merlin

The feisty Merlin (Falco columbarius) was nicknamed “Le Petit Carporal” or “Napoleon” (or Bonaparte) for its small stature. This small Falcon species is an agile and fast flyer.

Accurate representation based on original Audubon print layout. “Merlin” sized to match Harvell edition prints from the double elephant folio edition. Read Audubon’s journal about his encounters.

Edition of 120 signed and numbered prints, part of the “Resurrecting Audubon’s ‘Birds of America”. Bird provided by Denver Museum of Nature and Science. Photograph by Lindsey Wohlman
